Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • BuzzAway Pest Control serves Louisville / Jefferson County, Bullitt County, Spencer County, and Oldham County. If you’re outside these areas, feel free to reach out and we’ll let you know if we can help.

  • No. BuzzAway Pest Control provides exterior-only pest control. This allows us to focus on where mosquitoes and other outdoor pests live and breed, and it means you do not need to be home during service.

  • We provide exterior control for:

    ●      Mosquitoes

    ●      Fleas

    ●      Ticks

Our primary focus is mosquito control, but we offer additional exterior pest services as part of select plans.

Mosquito Control & Treatment

  • Mosquitoes get their energy from leaves, bushes, trees, and standing water, not from biting people. BuzzAway targets those areas using a 4-step treatment process that treats foliage and standing water instead of spraying grass, flowers, or gardens.

  • Most treatments are scheduled every 21 days during mosquito season, which typically runs from April through October in Kentucky. Regular treatments allow results to build over time by interrupting the mosquito breeding cycle.

  • Many customers notice improvement after the first treatment, with continued reduction after subsequent visits. Results build over time:

    ● Up to 80% reduction after the first treatment

    ● Up to 87% after the second

    ● Up to 95% after the third

Results may vary based on property conditions, weather, and environmental factors.

  • No. BuzzAway intentionally does not spray grass, flowers, or gardens, because it does not improve mosquito control. The only exception is granular treatments applied to grass when addressing tick activity.

Safety & Environment

  • BuzzAway uses pet & kid approved treatments and applies products in a targeted, exterior-only manner. We ask that treated areas be given 30–45 minutes to settle before pets and children return to the yard.

  • Yes. We offer:

    ● An all-natural treatment option (not guaranteed)

    ● Mosquito stations (traps) that use carbon dioxide and insect growth regulators to interrupt breeding cycles with minimal spraying

Pricing & Service Plans

  • Pricing depends on property size and the level of coverage needed. For properties ½ acre or less, seasonal service plans typically range from $450 to $1,000. Final pricing is confirmed after reviewing your property and needs.

  • Yes, one-time mosquito treatments are available. However, they are not guaranteed, and seasonal service plans provide more consistent and long-term results.

  • Yes. BuzzAway offers a 10% paid-in-full discount on select seasonal service plans.

Scheduling & Service Experience

  • No. Because all services are exterior-only, you do not need to be home. You’ll receive an email before service and a text notification when the technician is on the way.

  • BuzzAway stands behind its work. If there is no noticeable improvement after a treatment, we’ll return within 14 days at no additional cost.

  • Treatment schedules may be adjusted due to weather to ensure effectiveness. If weather causes a delay, we’ll communicate with you and reschedule as needed.

Special Services

  • Yes. We provide mosquito control for outdoor events, including weddings, graduation parties, Derby parties, and other special occasions. Contact us in advance so we can plan treatments around your event date.
